Child Safety Standards
Crossova is a social app that brings people together at events, in cities and on trips, and it is open only to people aged 18 and over. This page sets out Crossova's standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
1. Zero tolerance
Child sexual abuse and exploitation is strictly prohibited on Crossova. This includes:
- Any image, video, text, drawing or AI-generated content that shows children in a sexual way or sexualizes them (CSAM),
- Trying to contact a child for sexual purposes, to deceive them or to persuade them to meet (grooming),
- Posts and links that praise or normalize the sexual abuse of children or point to such content,
- Trafficking or sexual exploitation of children, and sexual extortion (sextortion).
These rules are part of the Terms of Use and the Community Rules and apply to every user.
2. Adults only
Crossova does not serve anyone under 18. We ask for a birth date at sign-up; if the person is under 18, no account is opened and retrying with the same account is blocked. An account reported as possibly belonging to someone under 18 is reviewed and closed.
3. How to report
- In the app: from the (⋯) menu of the post, message or profile, choose Report → "Child sexual abuse / sexual content involving a minor". This opens a case with the highest priority.
- By e-mail: [email protected]. You can write even if you don't have an account.
- If a child is in danger, call 112 (the emergency number in Türkiye and the EU) first. You can also report child abuse content to İhbar Web (ihbarweb.org.tr) in Türkiye or to your local hotline.
Do not copy, save or forward the content you report; doing so may itself be a crime. Your report is never shared with the person you reported.
4. What we do when we receive a report
- The reported content is hidden at once and the posting account is frozen until the review ends. This step is automatic; a person then decides.
- Only the authorized reviewer sees the content. It is never sent to any outside service and never copied.
- If the violation is confirmed, the content is removed, the account is closed permanently and re-registration is blocked.
- We report child sexual abuse material and suspected abuse to the competent authorities in Türkiye (the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and İhbar Web), and share the necessary information lawfully when the competent authorities request it.
- We act just as quickly on intimate images shared without consent, and we also direct victims to StopNCII.org.
5. Compliance with the law
Crossova complies with Turkish law on the protection of children (including the Turkish Penal Code and Law No. 5651) and with the relevant rules in the countries where the app is offered.
6. Contact
Our point of contact for child safety is Crossova's founder, Doğukan Bener: [email protected]. For other questions: [email protected].
